Our Level 3 Food Safety Course is designed for supervisors and managers.

Achieving a Food Safety Level 3 Award for supervisors and managers will help them understand their daily responsibilities and to ensure that food is safe, all the processes the food passes through from delivery, storage, production to despatch must match the same high standards and to oversee those standards.

The course is comprehensive but easily assimilated and will give supervisors and managers the confidence to ensure staff are instructed correctly and that they maintain operating procedures. Failure can be very costly, not only in material terms, but through loss of reputation.

It is vital that all food produced commercially is wholesome. This is not only a legal obligation, but also a commercial and moral obligation. If problems occur, supervisors and managers will be accountable and they must therefore be totally familiar with company procedures, current legislation and have the knowledge to be able to pass on those high standards to the staff they supervise.

Course Duration

All of our online courses have been designed to be completed at the learners pace. However the average time required to complete the Level 3 Food Hygiene learning is approximately 4 to 6 hours.


In order to be successful, candidates must achieve a 75% pass mark (45 or above) to obtain the certificate. The online assessment for the course consists of 60 multiple choice questions. If learners do unfortunately fail the online course, they are able to review the questions they got wrong and retake as many times as they like, simply contact us by email or on the telephone.

Certification in Level 3 Food Safety

The candidate will be able to print/save their certificate on successful completion of the assessment. An email will be sent to the candidate containing a link to the certificate. This is the simplest, most convenient way to achieve compliance. Also, a QR code has printed on the certificate, which can be scanned by a smartphone to establish the certificate’s validity.

This Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene Course (Supervisors) is Assured by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. The CIEH is the professional membership body for environmental health officers, and is responsible for overseeing the quality and standards of the food industry in practice.
