Superbugs - MRSA & Clostridum Difficle
In 1929, Sir Alexander Fleming discovered Penicillin. This
was further developed and by the 1940's the new "wonder
drug" was available. It saved millions of lives, but
through over use and misuse, gradually bacteria developed
resistance.
We are now at a dangerous stage where more and more 'superbugs'
are resistant to drugs. MRSA and Clostridium difficile are
two such superbugs causing many difficulties in our healthcare
facilities.
This little workbook describes the historical background to
superbugs, investigates the lifecycles of the bugs and the
symptoms they cause.Through a basic understanding of these
bacteria the workbook examines the care daily activities healthcare
workers use and aims to help fight the dangerous infections
through interrupting the lifecycles of the bacteria.
This little booklet is written to form part of your "due
diligence". It contains three parts:-
Essential knowledge highlighting post incidents, perceived
threats and advice on simple actions to increase security.
A 20 question multi choice test to establish understanding
and knowledge. This can be either marked in house by senior personnel, or returned to us for marking and submission to ASET for certification. This carries an aditional charge of £6.50 per workbook.
An optional observation section. This is to be completed
by the owner, manager or supervisor and records best practice
in daily operations.
ASET is a UK awarding body. This 3 part pack, once complete
will form excellent audit documents as part of your companys
due diligence systems.
